The opening for June Gloom - Memories
from the Past, at the Porter Butts Gallery at the University of Wisconsin, Madison,
on June 4th went very well. The exhibit took two full days to install. There are 172 postcards individually hanging from the
ceiling of the gallery. Visitors walk through the aisles to view the fronts of the images. All were photographed between
May and October of 2009 along the coastline of Southern California. They can then read the back of each card, which
contains memories from growing up on the beaches of Southern California.

Dave Barton, of OC Weekly wrote about Gina's work in the Laguna Art Museum: "The Pack Rat and Lives Lived In
Cubes, Gina Genis' voyeuristic photos of isolated senior citizens seen through their
kitchen and balcony windows, are at once chillingly immediate and distancing, forcing us to acknowledge the subjects’
solitude."
