“This lake is of exactly the right size to be seen with all its surrounding beauties at one glance...and he who sees it will scarcely tire of gazing.” Warren Angus Ferris, mountain man, 1830

If you think you have seen a beautiful blue lake, you need to experience the incredible color of Bear Lake. Limestone deposits, that float in the water and absorb and reflect light act as mirrors and give Bear Lake it’s intense turquoise color. There are 48 miles of shoreline, beaches, a marina, boat dock, and wild marshes. Birds and wildflowers are bountiful in June, when the temperature is very pleasant. The surrounding area of Bear Lake has photographic opportunities with barns, churches, pasture land, and Minnetonka Cave. The cave is a natural phenomenon of stalactites and stalagmites. This gorgeous area is the perfect place to learn new skills and improve the ones you already have. Your wide angle, telephoto, and macro lenses can be put to good use here. If you have a Lensbaby, we will explore it. If you don’t have a Lensbaby, I will show you the type of fine art landscapes that result from using one. Don’t miss this wonderful weekend at Bear Lake where you can discover and explore your creative side without interruption.

Minnetonka cave is an easy 1/2 mile walk. There are 400 stairs, but they are spread out, and we climb them slowly. Make sure you are physically fit enough to handle the walk and stairs. Gina Genis Photo Workshops cannot be responsible for personal health or injury. Temperature inside the cave is 40°, so bring a jacket.
